Tóm tắt: This study investigates the effects of prewriting discussions on the IELTS writing
performance and learner attitudes of Vietnamese EFL students at the B1 level. Fifty-five
participants at a private English center in Vinh Long City were randomly assigned to a
control group (n = 28), which received task-based instruction, and an experimental
group (n = 27), which engaged in small-group prewriting discussions before drafting.
